In a previous post, we talked about how, in a relationship, each person’s oral health impacts the other person as well.
It’s important to maintain good oral health, if not only for your sake but for the sake of your significant other as well! Here are some more activities that you can do together to promote each other’s beautiful and strong smiles.
Brush and Floss Together
Even if you don’t wake up and fall asleep at the same times, try to work something out so that you guys can brush and floss together. You could get a little hourglass or other timer that runs around 2-3 minutes; flip it over and start brushing at the same time. Floss together (to make sure both of you do it). Sometimes as much as we wish that we have enough self control and initiative to keep ourselves on top of these things, we can’t deny that having another person holding us accountable helps. If anything, this routine gives you just a nice 5 minutes that you can spend in each others’ company, just being and brushing, not talking about anything.
If you can manage to line up your dentist visits, you could try to schedule them at the same time. This would probably take a lot of planning in advance, since many offices don’t always have many simultaneous or back to back bookings available. But go on a dentist date together, and you could even ask the dentist whose teeth looks healthier for some friendly competition. After working together on your oral health for a while, it’s nice to have a professional opinion to gauge your progress!
