About Dental Implants in Austin, TX

Dental implants are an excellent choice for an effective and lasting solution to missing teeth. Dental implants involve implanting titanium screws into the jawbone. Once these titanium screws are healed, this allows for a replacement tooth, as well as a new bridge to be added to the tooth root. Dental implants are an excellent way for almost anybody to regain their smile permanently. Other missing tooth solutions, like dental bridges and dentures, require maintenance. Dental implants, on the other hand, are simply treated as a new set of teeth. There are plenty of benefits with dental implants, which is why they’re commonly suggested by dental surgeons, more so than other solutions.

For dental implants in Austin, TX, trust our team of experienced dental professionals, who would be happy to get you started on the journey to a healthier mouth and beautiful smile.

Benefits of Dental Implants

Dental implants provide our patients with a slew of benefits, paramount of these being the appearance of real, natural teeth that work to create a beautiful smile. There are other benefits to dental implants, including:

Improved Self-Esteem

Feeling comfortable smiling wide can be hard to do when you’re missing one or more teeth. Our dental implants in Austin, TX look natural and help our patients deal with the self-esteem issues that can come with losing a tooth. You’ll never be scared to smile again with dental implants.

More Beautiful Smile

It’s no secret that a gap in our teeth can be considered a blemish, making us nervous to laugh or smile. With brand new teeth, you’ll look and feel great, and be ready to show off your mouth in any capacity. Get closer to that award-winning smile with dental implants.

Most Comfortable Option

When compared to dentures or bridges, implants are much more comfortable. This makes dental implants easier to adapt to after the procedure is completed, especially when done by an experienced dentist like Dr. D’Alfonso.

Never Have A Hard Time Eating

With other teeth replacement solutions, like dentures, eating can be difficult, and in some cases, even embarrassing. Dental implants never slide or move, and there’s virtually no difference between eating with them and real teeth. Your implants will be able to chew your favorite foods with confidence and convenience.

Massively Improve Dental Health

Other dental replacement options require other, undamaged teeth to be altered. For example, dental bridges require that the surrounding teeth are reduced. Over time, this can result in declining oral health. With dental implants, you can seamlessly replace your missing teeth without disturbing the rest of your mouth.

Easier Time Talking

When an individual is missing one or more teeth, it can make clearly speaking and enunciating words difficult. This results in those individuals hesitating before speaking, or feeling embarrassed when they do try to speak. With dental implants, speaking is much easier and more comfortable.

Types of Dental Implants

Endosteal Implants

1-2 Teeth

For endosteal dental implants, two surgeries must take place at our Austin dental implant center. First, the implants are inserted into the jawbone, and then the patient is sent back home to heal. Once the bone healing is completed, we’ll place the posts into the implants to be the future site of your artificial teeth. Endosteal implants are the most common implant procedures we perform here at our Austin dental implant center. For patients that have a few missing teeth, endosteal implants are recommended.

Subperiosteal Implants

4 Teeth

For subperiosteal implants, a metal frame is placed on the jawbone. First, a metal plate is placed underneath the gum, which then remains fixed as the gums heal. This frame has several posts attached that stick out from under the gums. These posts will be the location for artificial teeth once healing is completed. Individuals that are unable to wear conventional dentures will be recommended subperiosteal implants.

Full Set

All-on-4 dental implants in Austin, TX are perfect for those that need to replace all of their teeth. These types of dental implants provide a stable foundation for a full-arch prosthesis that uses 4 main implants. Our team of experienced dentists will then place and insert 4 implant roots, and then make a bridge to be placed on the implants. This will all be done in-house at our Austin area dental implant center..

Dental Implant Process

Free Consultation

To begin, sign up for a free consultation so you can understand all of your options. Are dental implants in Austin the right choice for you, or is there another procedure that best fits your needs? You can make the best decision for your smile with our free consultation.

3D X-ray

With our free consultation, we’ll conduct an x-ray using our innovative iCAT 3-D X-ray machine. X-rays from the iCAT machine are usually $550 in value, which you’ll get for free.

Implant Procedure

If you’re an appropriate candidate for dental implants, we’ll move forward with scheduling the associated dental implant surgery. With dental implants, the process is usually completed on a tooth-by-tooth basis and given ample time to heal in between the actual placement of the tooth and the surgery.

Post Operation

Once the implant has healed and fused to the jaw bone, the final crown will be placed, which can last for life if properly cared for. If you need another dental implant, the process will repeat for all other teeth that need attention.

“Would highly recommend!!”

“Dr. D'Alfonso and his entire staff are a real pleasure to work with. I received excellent care and attention for all of my visits for my recent work - everyone greets you like a friend, treats you like family, and shows they value your business. Dr. D'Alfonso called me on 2 separate Sunday afternoons to check on me, and to make sure I didn't have any pain - I've never had a dentist do that for me. This shows how much they care. The work I had done was exceptional. They take pride in doing a great job. Would highly recommend!! :)”

Frequently Asked Questions

What Are The Benefits of Dental Implants?

Dental implants offer a host of benefits, but the procedure is most commonly performed for those that are looking to improve their smiles. But, dental implants also help with speech, eating, general dental health, and they are much more comfortable than dentures or bridges.

How Much Do Dental Implants Cost?

The cost of dental implants will vary from patient to patient, as every dental implant procedure is unique. The cost of dental implants largely depends on the number of appointments, treatments, and the number of dental implants a patient requires.
At Lakeway Cosmetic Dentistry, we always provide our patients with a personalized and affordable dental implant plan that works within their budget.

What Can I Expect From The Dental Implant Procedure?

In most cases, the dental implant surgery is painless, as it is done under local anesthesia. It typically takes 3-6 months for the implant to fuse with the jaw bone, and once healed, the permanent crown will be placed. In most cases where multiple implants are needed, the implant procedures will be performed one at a time to allow for proper healing.

How Long Do Dental Implants Last?

Given the proper care, dental implants can last for the rest of your life. As dental implants are so close to real teeth, proper care is the same kind of care you would give to real teeth. If you ensure you do not neglect your dental health, dental implants can last for life.
