We always hear about the foods that can ruin our teeth, stain our teeth, and break our teeth. It is not often we hear or know about the foods that help our teeth, strengthen our teeth, and protect our teeth. Of course, Im sure you’ve heard the Vitamin D and calcium-rich food talk, but lets talk about a few other foods that help keep our teeth strong, pearly-white, and healthy.

Teeth-Healthy Foods:

  • Celery. A naturally fibrous vegetable, it helps clean between the teeth and produce saliva. This green vegetable also assists in neutralizing bacteria and massaging the gums. Pears are also another good fibrous fruit , and its in season during the fall!
  • Sugar-free Gum. While sugar-free gum has no concrete evidence of preventing cavities directly, chewing gum stimulates saliva which helps break down acid in the mouth. Why sugar-free gum is better than regular? I think we both know why.
  • Water. We could talk about waters benefits all day long, but were focusing in on teeth. Water helps keep us hydrated and that means healthy saliva production. Water also helps prevent long-term staining if we rinse after drinking dark-colored drinks like soda and wine.
  • Milk and yogurt. Last but not least, I have to put milk and yogurt. They have the calcium we need to keep our tooth enamel strong.

Try to incorporate these foods into your diet, your teeth will thank you later. And who knows, maybe you might find your next favorite food that you cant live without.
